How to Set Up Outlook 2000 to Send and Receive Email

  1. Double-click the Microsoft Outlook 2000 icon.

  2. Click the Next button.

  3. Click the Next button.

  4. Click the Next button.

  5. Check the box next to Internet E-mail.

  6. Click the Next button.

  7. Click the Setup Mail Account button.

  8. In the Mail account field, type a name for your email account (i.e. MyAccount).

  9. In the Name field, type your full name.

  10. In the E-mail address field, type your full email address (e.g., user@isp.com.au).

  11. Click on the Servers tab.

  12. In the Incoming Mail (POP3) field, type your Incoming mail server (POP) (as determined during step 1 of this walkthrough).

  13. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field, type smtp.isp.com.au.

  14. In the Account name field, type your full email address (e.g., user@isp.com.au).

  15. In the Password field, type your email password.

  16. Click on the Connection tab.
  17. Click the Connect using my phone line radio button in the Connection area.
  18. Click the down arrow on the Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection drop-down list and choose your connection.

  20. Click the Next button.
